  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Display a sound work ethic and regular attendance.
  • Assist in planning varied menus to ensure that food is appetizing and nutritionally suitable for students and staff as established by the Nutrition Guidelines in compliance with the Nutritional Standards for Competitive Foods in Pennsylvania Schools and approved by the Intermediate Unit Board as outlined by the Schuylkill Technology Centers’Wellness Policy.
  • Assist in participation in regular professional development activities, as recommended, to keep abreast of advances in food service and nutrition guidelines; and remain current in the nutrition guidelines.
  • Inspects food items and/or supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality and specifications of orders and/or complying with mandated health standards.
  • Inventories food, condiments and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items required for meeting projected menu requirements.
  • Assist in preparing, cooking, and serving food.
  • Cleans utensils, equipment, and storage, food preparation and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining required sanitary conditions
  • Receives food items and/or supplies and places them in designated areas utilizing temperature requirements and food spoilage guidelines for the purpose of ensuring availability of items required for meeting projected menu requirements.
  • Assist in directing the activities of students engaged in washing dishes and utensils.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting reports, information, budgets, and inventory as required.
  • Reports needed supplies and equipment malfunctions for the purpose of notifying cafeteria manager of needed items and repair and/or replacement
  • Assist in collecting lunch money, keeping daily record of meals served and operating cash register.
  • Adhere to all policies enacted by the Intermediate Unit Board and established by the Nutrition Guidelines in compliance with the Nutritional Standards for Competitive Foods in Pennsylvania Schools and approved by the Intermediate Unit Board as outlined by the Schuylkill Technology Centers’ Wellness Policy.
  • Maintain all professional certifications as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
  • Assist with the operation of the cafeteria during the absence of the Food Service Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager, Business Manager or Building Administrator.
